Privacy policy

1. What We Collect
Information Shopify Collects Automatically
When you visit our site, Shopify gathers some basic technical details so the website works properly and so we can understand how people use it. This includes things like:

  • your browser type
  • IP address
  • time zone
  • cookie data
  • what pages or products you look at
  • search terms
  • how you interact with the site (via cookies, log files, tags, pixels, etc.)

This is standard for almost every online store.

Information Collected During Checkout
When you place an order through Shopify’s checkout, the following is collected:

  • your name
  • billing and shipping address
  • email and/or phone number
  • payment details (securely handled by Shopify)

Zipperloft never sees your credit card number. We only receive payment confirmation, and the information needed to ship your order and provide customer support.

Analytics
We see only aggregate information — things like how many people visited and what pages were popular. We do not receive individual browsing histories or financial data. Data cannot be tied to a specific customer.

2. Sharing Your Information

Because our store is hosted on Shopify, your information is shared with us so we can fulfill your order and provide customer service.

You can read Shopify’s full privacy policy here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy

We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our store. Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy Opt‑out: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

  • Bing: https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/policies/personalized-ads

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:

  • process and ship your orders
  • communicate with you about your purchase
  • provide customer support
  • send newsletters or product updates (only if you opted in)

That’s it. No selling data, no weird surprises. And we keep your order information for tax purposes.

5. Automated Decision‑Making
Shopify (not Zipperloft) uses limited automated tools to prevent fraud, such as:

  • temporarily blocking IP addresses after repeated failed transactions
  • temporarily blocking credit cards linked to suspicious activity

These blocks last only a short time and are designed to protect everyone. We cannot override any imposed restriction.

6. GDPR (For EEA Customers)
If you live in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • access your personal information
  • correct or update it
  • request deletion
  • request a copy to take elsewhere

Just contact us to make a request.

Your data may be processed in Ireland first, then transferred to Canada or the United States for storage. Shopify explains how this complies with GDPR here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/your-account/privacy/GDPR

7. Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small text files that help the site remember things like:

  • your preferences
  • what’s in your cart
  • whether you’ve visited before

They also help the site function properly.

Some cookies last only while you browse (session cookies). Others stay longer until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).

If you block cookies, parts of the site may not work correctly.

Shopify does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals because there’s no industry standard for how to handle them.

8. Children’s Privacy
We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. International Data Storage
Because our store is hosted on Shopify, your data may be stored or processed outside Canada (including the United States). Shopify uses industry‑standard protections for these transfers.

10. Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Just email us at admin@zipperloft.ca.

11. Security
No system is perfect, but Shopify uses industry‑standard security. We recommend not sending sensitive information through unencrypted channels.

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The latest version will always be posted here.

13. Contact Us
If you have questions about this policy, want to request your data, or need to make a privacy‑related complaint, email us at admin@zipperloft.ca. We’re always happy to help.
